Bodyish is here to support individuals and communities in questioning diet-culture’s harmful narratives. Through education, conversation, and reflection, we invite people to explore
a more peaceful relationship with food, movement, and their bodies.
Our mission goes beyond individual healing to challenge the societal norms that shape how we relate to food, movement, and our bodies, to create a more just and equitable world for every body.
who we are
Janelle Zwarych is an Intuitive Eating and anti-diet culture educator whose work is rooted in her own journey of healing from diet culture. With a background in psychology and nonprofit leadership, she is passionate about supporting people in building a more peaceful relationship with food, movement, and their bodies.
Selma van Halder is an educator, chef, and anthropologist with a background in food systems education for both children and adults. She’s spent the past decade building capacity in small businesses and non-profits. She firmly believes that food serves as a powerful vehicle for joy, connection, and learning.
“Making peace with your body is your
mighty act of revolution.
It is your contribution to a changed planet where we might all live unapologetically
in the bodies we have."

“The most valuable part of the workshop was learning about the role of the patriarchal misogynistic economic complex that created diet culture and how it has negatively impacted our ability to eat intuitively.”
